Ghostface, the antagonist of the Scream franchise, has reached out to fans of the franchise on social media to urge them not to share spoilers following reports that Scream 6 plot details had leaked online, courtesy of a report from The A.V Club. “Dear Scream friends, as opening day approaches, we’d like to ask you a small favor,” the official Ghostface Twitter account reads.
“Please be kind to your fellow fans and keep spoilers to yourselves. The whole cast and crew has worked hard over the last year to keep it secretive, so that everyone can hopefully have the best kind of experience possible – spoiler free. We love you, we thank you, and we hope you all enjoy watching the film as much as the cast and crew enjoyed making it. It’s an honor.”

Historically, this is not the first time the Scream franchise has been the subject of plot leaks. The story famously goes that the Scream 2 script leaked twice, with writer Kevin Williamson penning three different drafts. “The first leaked script that went out was the fake one, so by the time the real one went out, no one believed it,” he told Collider in 2022.
Could this leak be the beginning of an elaborate hoax from the film’s writers to protect the sequel’s real story?. We can only hope, since the Scream 2 ending contained one of the greatest plot twists in history.
Scream 6 will star Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Hayden Panettiere, Courteney Cox, Henry Czerny (who is set to appear in Mission Impossible 7 next year), Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, Devyn Nekoda, Liana Liberato, Dermot Mulroney, Thomas Cadrot, and Andre Anthony. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct their second film in the franchise following Scream (2022).
