Mission Impossible 7 Gets A First Trailer

Mission: Impossible 7, otherwise known as Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning – Part One), has a trailer – and it promises to be the biggest in the series yet. Without breaking tradition – we need to dissect what the trailer delivers – and that would be a lot. The story remains under wraps, and the only line of dialogue featured in the trailer comes from Henry Czerny’s Eugene Kittridge, who returns to the franchise for the first time since the original Mission: Impossible

“You’ve been fighting to save an ideal that doesn’t exist, never did,” Kittridge says, informing Cruise’s Ethan Hunt to pick a side. The trailer also features several familiar faces, allies and enemies alike, from the spy series.  Above all else, it’s the film’s scale and technical ambition that the trailer highlights best.

In previous instalments, Tom Cruise has clung to the outside of airborne planes, piloted helicopters, conquered skyscrapers, set records for holding his breath underwater, and ridden motorcycles around the Arc De Triomphe the wrong way. However, it would not be a Mission Impossible film without some impossible stunts.

Cruise runs across and fights on the rooftops of speeding trains. He’s taking part in high-speed car chases in Italy and finishing off the trailer in the best way possible, speeding off a ramp on a motorcycle. Moments after, he leaves the bike and descends through a mountain range by parachute. He certainly works for his money. He’s also running – a lot.

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning – Part One will star Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny, Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Shea Whigham.

Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning – Part One will be released on Friday 14th July 2023, before Mission Impossible 8, perhaps known as Dead Reckoning – Part 2, is expected to debut in cinemas from Friday 28th June 2024.
