The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Gets Release Date & Trailer

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be arriving on Disney Plus on March 19, 2021. Along with the announcement, an exclusive trailer of our heroes in action has been released. Sam’s Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes, otherwise known as the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), contend with Captain America’s legacy after the events of Endgame as Daniel Bruhl’s Zemo (previously seen in Captain America: Civil War) looks ready to cause chaos.

There’s even the tiniest glimpse at the “new” Captain America, Wyatt Russell’s John Walker. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was confirmed in April 2019, with both Stan and Mackie reprising their roles in the show. While becoming a part of Phase Four, production was at one point halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Emily VanCamp is due to return too as Sharon Carter, the niece of Peggy Carter, while Georges St-Pierre returning as French mercenary Georges Batroc, previously seen in the opening moments of The Winter Soldier

While 2020 has been sadly a lackluster year for Marvel, 2021 is beginning to shape up nicely. On January 15, Wandavision is due to launch on Disney Plus, followed by Black Widow on May 7, while the Loki spin-off is set to land on Disney Plus in Spring 2021.

As recently reported, Tom Holland confirmed that Spider-Man 3, the sequel to last year’s Far From Home, had begun filming. Holland is also due to star as Nathan Drake in the upcoming film adaptation of Uncharted, which is due next year. Spider-Man 3 will further star Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.

On the subject of all things strange, Phase Four will include Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, before concluding with Thor: Love and Thunder in May 2022, with Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and GOTG’s Chris Pratt reprising their roles. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals are also slated for 2021.
