Disney+ Announces New Releases, Including Marvel and Star Wars Series

Fans have been treated to an onslaught of Disney+ announcements, including updates and upcoming releases.

We’re here to break down everything that has been announced. Taking up center stage are some of Disney’s newly adopted franchises, Marvel and Star Wars, which are both showing no signs of slowing down. So without further ado, let’s begin!

Disney & Pixar

Pixar Popcorn – A collection of short films starring various Pixar characters. Coming to Disney+ in January 2021.

Flora and Ulysses – An original movie, about a young girl and her superhero squirrel. Coming to Disney+ in February 2021.

Raya and the Last Dragon – An original movie about a warrior who tracks down the last dragon to protect it from sinister monsters. It is also being releasing in cinemas! Coming to on Disney+ on March 5, 2021.

Dug Days – A spin-off series, based of characters from Pixar’s Up. Coming to Disney+ in 2021.

Willow – Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

Baymax!A new animated series. Coming to Disney+ 2022.

Zootopia+ – A new animated series. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

TianaA new animated series. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild – An Ice Age spin-off series. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

Iwájú – A new animated series. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

Three Men and a Baby – A reboot of the 1987 film of the same name. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

Cheaper by the Dozen – A reimagining of the 2003 film of the same name. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

Cars – A new series featuring old and new characters from the Pixar franchise. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

MoanaA new animated series based on the 2016 film. Coming to Disney+ in 2023.

Win or Lose – A Pixar animated series. Coming to Disney+ in 2023.

Disenchanted – A sequel to the 2007 live action film Enchanted, with Amy Adams returning. Coming to Disney+.

Peter Pan & Wendy – A live action remake of the 1953 classic. Coming to Disney+.

CruellaA live action film about the infamous villain. With Emma Stone to star in the title role. Coming to Disney+.

Chip ‘N Dale: Rescue Rangers – Containing a mixture of both live action and animation, this will be a reboot featuring the iconic Disney duo. Coming to Disney+.

Big ShotA basketball series set in high school. Coming to Disney+.

Sister Act – A third film to the growing franchise, with Whoopi Goldberg to return. Coming to Disney+.

The Mighty Ducks: Game ChangersA series centred around a 13 year old boy. It will be based on the original films. Coming to Disney+.

The Mysterious Benedict Society – A series based on the young adult mystery books. Coming to Disney+.

Greek Freak – A live action film about basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo. Coming to Disney+.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier – A series centered around Falcon and The Winter Soldier from the MCU. Coming to Disney+ on March 19 2021. 

LokiA series picking up on the God of Mischief following the events of Avengers: Endgame. Coming to Disney+ May 2021.

Hawkeye – A series centered around Hawkeye after Avengers: Endgame. Coming to Disney+ in 2021.

What If…? – An animated series based on popular Marvel characters. Coming to Disney+ in 2021.

Ms Marvel – A series based on the young Marvel hero. Coming to Disney+ in 2021.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special – A one-off festive special. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

I Am Groot – A series of short films based on Groot. Coming to Disney+.

She-Hulk – A series centered around the popular comic book character. Tatiana Maslany is set to star, with Mark Ruffalo returning as Hulk, and Tim Roth returning as The Abomination. Coming to Disney+.

Secret Invasion – A series centered around the comic books of the same name. Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn are set to reprise their MCU roles. Coming to Disney+.

Ironheart – A series set around the comic book character of the same name. Coming to Disney+.

Armor Wars – A series set around Iron Man’s technology falling into the wrong hands. Don Cheadle is set to return as James Rhodes. Coming to Disney+.

Moon KnightA series set around the comic book superhero of the same name. Coming to Disney+.

Star Wars

Star Wars: VisionsA series of short animated films. Coming to Disney+ in 2021.

Andor – A prequel series to the 2016 film Rogue One. Diego Luna is set to reprise his role as Cassian Andor. Coming to Disney+ in 2022.

Obi-Wan Kenobi – A very long awaited series here! Set 10 years after the events of The Return of The Sith, Ewan McGregor is set to make his return as Obi-Wan Kenobi, with Hayden Christensen returning as Darth Vader. Coming to Disney+.

Rangers of the New RepublicA series set within the world of The Mandalorian. Coming to Disney+.

The Bad BatchAn animated series set around the experimental clones after the events of the Clone War. Coming to Disney+.

Ahsoka – A series centered around the popular character Ahsoka. Rosario Dawson will continue her role from The Mandalorian. Coming to Disney+.

Lando – A spin-off series to the 2018 film, Solo. Coming to Disney+.

The Acolyte – A live action series that will explore the end of the High Republic era. Coming to Disney+.

A Droid Story – An animated series to mark the return of R2-D2 and C-3PO. Coming to Disney+.
