“Herogasm” is one of the most risqué and highly talked about moments from The Boys, and Season 3 will feature this arc from the source material. In a nutshell, Vought send all of their supes packing for one massive superhero orgy on a private island. So the question remains, how could Eric Kripke and the creative team behind the hit Amazon Prime show top this?
Well, somehow, they can. According to Kripke, in an exclusive chat with EW, Season 3 will feature “a crazier thing” than a superhero orgy party. Quite exactly what, the Supernatural creator will not say, but we’ve witnessed speedboats killing giant whales, speedsters running through people, and let’s not forget the assassin with the power to explode people’s heads, Scanners-style. The particular moment of crazy, however, Kripke says, will be featured in the premiere episode, “Payback”.
Speaking about “Herogasm”, Kripke described the dailies, (the raw footage seen by the cast and crew each day), as “bananas”. Kripke adds: “I’ve been around the block a few times. I’m a seasoned producer. Every single day on those dailies, my jaw was on the floor.”
“I can tell you that for anybody who is a fan of the comic and is expecting to see Herogasm, we are delivering it. That is happening.”
A release date for Season 3 has yet to be confirmed, but filming is well underway, with Laz Alonso, (Mother’s Milk), recently confirming that Season 3 would be the bloodiest yet.
“Season 3, we’re already at three and a half gallons of blood. So that should give you a little indication of where it’s going.” says Alonso. He further speaks about the introduction of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, which allows Kripke to “not only bring in a character historically whose pretty dark, but it also makes all of the other ensemble supes darker as well”.
