Eric Kripke, showrunner and writer of The Boys, has revealed a picture of Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. Sporting an impressive beard, the Supernatural star looks almost unrecognisable standing outside of a trailer pointing to a sign that reads Soldier Boy, the elected leader of another superhero group, Payback.
While Soldier Boy’s history is relatively unknown, Ackles’ super counterpart was responsible for killing dozens of German soldiers in World War Two. Soldier Boy has already been previously referenced in Season 2 while a statue of the supe can be seen in “Butcher, Baker, Candlestick Maker”, the seventh episode of the same season.
Other members of Payback, considered second-best behind The Seven, include Lady Liberty, otherwise better known as Stormfront, and Eagle the Archer, both of whom made appearances throughout Season 2. Those we’ve yet to meet include Tek Knight, Swatto, Crimson Countess, and Mind-Droid.

Season 3 of the Amazon Original, according to Laz Alonso, (Mother’s Milk), is shaping up to be the bloodiest yet. After speaking to the show’s head makeup artist, Alonso was informed they’d used “over a gallon of blood in Season 2, believe it or not.”
Alonso adds: “Season 3, we’re already at three and a half gallons of blood. So that should give you a little indication of where it’s going.”
Alonso further touched upon Eric Kripke’s approach to the third season of The Boys. The introduction of Jensen Ackles “allowed him to not only bring in a character historically whose pretty dark, but it also makes all of the other ensemble supes darker as well”
Alonso also confirmed that they are almost “halfway through” filming, so although The Boys Season 3 has yet to receive an official release date, it is likely that it will be available during the back half of 2021.
The Boys Seasons 1-2 are currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
