Jensen Ackles Is Back As Soldier Boy For Gen V Cameo

Jensen Ackles is set to reprise his role as Soldier Boy in Gen V. The actor joins other co-stars from The Boys in the upcoming superhero spin-off, set within Godolkin University, a campus created for the next generation of super-powered students.

As confirmed in a story by Entertainment Weekly, Ackles will stop by for a brief appearance in Gen V while the circumstances surrounding his cameo are kept under wraps. In April, Ackles informed audiences attending a Supernatural fan convention that he had filmed a heavily improvised cameo for Gen V

Eric Kripke, Ackles says, joined the set one day. “He and I were just, like, we were spitballing ideas and workshopping literally in between takes and coming up with a whole variety of takes,” Ackles explained. The Season 3 finale of The Boys left Soldier Boy’s future open for a potential return.

“The old TV adage is like, never kill anyone unless you really, really have to. Never close a door, open a window,” Kripke shared. “We’ll all have to wait and see, but I can’t imagine the series ending without Soldier Boy making another appearance.”

Multiple characters from The Boys will cross over to Gen V for guest cameos, including speedster A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) and Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie), a top exec at Vought. Most notably, Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) will pop by (who knows, she might take some heads with her before her cameo ends).

Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi.

Guest stars include Clancy Brown, Jason Ritter, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and P.J. Byrne, who reprises his role from The Boys. Chace Crawford was recently secured to reprise his role as the Deep in the series.

The first three episodes of Gen V debut on September 29, before the final five air weekly until November 3.
