Fear the Walking Dead is about to end, and Michael E. Satrazemis, a mainstay director with the spin-off and the parent series, The Walking Dead, has teased what audiences can expect from the final six episodes. Chief among which, Satrazemis says, attention will shift to Madison, the matriarch of the Clark family first introduced in Season 1.
“What’s beautiful about the last season is it’s full circle. It feels very karmically correct,” Satrazemis said in an interview with SFX Magazine (per GamesRadar). “We saw Morgan and Mo leave the show, and it’s very complete. In the same scene, almost, there’s a handover to Madison.”
“Knowing that she can try to put some of these children back with their parents is a big thing,” Satrazemis added. “There’s also the fact that Madison hasn’t really had enough time to process the death of her children. She’s just learned that they were dead, so some of her biggest struggles will be within.”
“It’s a truly exciting year for The Walking Dead Universe, as we conclude an epic journey on Fear the Walking Dead, which became one of the most successful shows in the history of cable television,” a press release from AMC read, released at the time the eighth season launched.
Fear the Walking Dead stars Kim Dickens, Colman Domingo, Austin Amelio, Christine Evangelista, Karen David, Danay Garcia, Rubén Blades, Daniel Sharman, and Jenna Elfman.
Fear the Walking Dead Season 8 debuts on AMC and AMC+ on Sunday, October 22, 2023. Early fan reviews for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon are in, and they might surprise you.
