The first footage of the Red Hulk has been released, giving Marvel fans an impression of what Harrison Ford will look like after his transformation into the red beast. Ford is set to appear alongside Anthony Mackie in the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World, who stars as Sam Wilson/Captain America.
Known by his official title as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, the 82-year-old Indiana Jones actor will take over from the late William Hurt, who passed away in 2022. The Red Hulk has been teased in trailers and promotional stills for the film, due out on February 14, 2022, before a recent highlight reel commemorating Marvel’s impact in the film industry featured Ford in roaring action as the Red Hulk.
In the clip, Ford emerges from a podium on the White House lawn, transforming into the Red Hulk. With a roar to give Bruce Banner a run for his money, the Red Hulk looks set to become a formidable adversary for anyone who stands in their way.
“I had watched other actors, brilliant actors have a wonderful time,” Ford explained during an appearance on The Official Marvel Podcast. “I’m not a brilliant actor, but I thought I might have a good time. I’m delighted by what we’ve done. The movie’s gonna… kick a**.”
Captain America: Brave New World further stars Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Carl Lumbly, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson, who both return to the MCU for the first time since The Incredible Hulk (2008). The fourth entry in the series will be directed by Julius Onah, known for his work on The Cloverfield Paradox, Luce and The Girl Is In Trouble.
