Thor 5 is reportedly being developed at Marvel Studios, courtesy of quotes from two independent sources. The first is from director Taika Waititi, who helmed Thor: Ragnarok and Thor: Love and Thunder. In Thor: Love and Thunder The Official Movie Special book, the director expressed his hopes of bringing a villain into the Asgardian universe “somehow more formidable” than Hela, the main antagonist from Ragnarok.
“What is left to do to him? It’s got to be something that feels like it’s carrying on with the evolution of the character, but still in a very fun way and still giving him things to come up against that feel like they’re building on the obstacles that he has to overcome,” Waititi said (courtesy of a story from ComicBook, as reported by ScreenRant). “I don’t think we can have a villain that’s weaker than Hela.”
Thor 5 is in development at Marvel Studios. Unfortunately there is a good chance Taika Waititi will return to direct but it is NOT a done deal. I'd like to see someone like Sam Hargrave doing it, he'll make a badass Thor movie. pic.twitter.com/IqV53VQeQe

Meanwhile, a social media account, MyTimeToShineHello, announced that Thor 5 was in development, adding that there was “a good chance Taika Waititi will return to direct but it is NOT a done deal. I’d like to see someone like Sam Hargrave doing it, he’ll make a badass Thor movie.”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chris Hemsworth outlined what he knew on a new Thor film. That being said, it’s not much. “I’ve got to be careful how I word that because I have no idea what’s happening in the next phase,” Hemsworth explained. “There’s always conversations, like with Extraction. Before anything is official, people are throwing around ideas. But officially, I don’t know.”
Thor: Love and Thunder further stars Natalie Portman, Chris Pratt, Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi, Jaimie Alexander, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan and Russell Crowe.
