There’s A New Trailer For Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

A new trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has arrived – and it offers us the first exclusive look at the film’s lead villain and the Ironheart suit. As Wakanda mourns the loss of King T’Challa, the threat of war looms over the nation – and with their leader gone – a new villain is about to enter the fray. “Only the most broken people can be great leaders,” Namor says menacingly as the trailer opens.

“He’s coming for the surface world” Shuri (Letitia Wright) warns. Winston Duke, who plays M’baku, describes Namor (Tenoch Huerta) as neither a “general or king. They call him K’uk’ulkan, the feather serpent god. Killing him will risk eternal war.”

Namor possesses aquatic abilities, while his most unique feature would have to be the minuscule wings on his ankles that allow him to fly. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Ryan Coogler said that to make “these types of movies, you’ve got to lean into the weird stuff, or you risk missing what makes it fun.”

The trailer further provides Marvel fans with the first proper look at the Ironheart suit, a technologically advanced suit that could go toe to toe with Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man. Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) can be seen getting to grips with the Ironheart suit and having a lot of fun.

The footage offers a better look at Namor’s underwater kingdom of Talocan. The nation is entirely fictional and created for the film, whereas in the comic book source material, Namor rules over Atlantis. Inspired by Mayan culture, Coogler described it as a kingdom that hides “in plain sight.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is expected to debut in cinemas on November 11, 2022. The first teaser for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was revealed during a panel at San-Diego Comic Con 2022, as previously reported by FlickLuster.
