The First Thor: Love & Thunder Clip Is Released Online

A clip from Marvel’s upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder, featuring Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster’s reveal as Mighty Thor debuted during the MTV Movie & TV Awards. For those already familiar with the recent trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder – Jane Foster’s first appearance as Mighty Thor will not come as much surprise – but it’s still epic to watch in its entirety anyway.

In the scene, Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian God searches for Mjolnir on a battlefield. Thor whistles and calls out the name of his hammer as if searching for a loyal pet dog. However, Mjolnir is not responding to him.

Eventually, Mjolnir comes flying toward him, and Thor reaches out to claim the hammer – until it shoots back the opposite way and lands in the hand of Jane Foster, or as we should now call her – Mighty Thor, dazzling in Asgardian battle attire. Watch the full clip below.

Thor is understandably confused and will be disappointed to discover that Mjolnir no longer recognises him as his rightful owner. The last time this happened, Captain America claimed the hammer in a fight against Thanos. Speaking of which, in a post-Thanos world, a lot has changed.

You’d only need to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home and the recent Doctor Strange sequel to realise with the arrival of the multiverse and the five-year-blip, it’s a different world to the one from before. The world in this new sequel may change from the one we knew in Thor: Ragnarok.

We’ve still some time to wait until we get the answers to these burning questions – as Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth instalment in the series and second from director Taika Waititi, debuts in cinemas on July 8, 2022.

Chris Pratt, Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi, Jaimie Alexander, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, and Karen Gillan will be reprising their roles from previous MCU films. The film will feature Christian Bale as villain Gorr the God Butcher.
