Quentin Tarantino might be about to cast John Travolta in his tenth and final film, The Movie Critic, following claims from an entertainment insider on social media. “I hear Tarantino is saving a role in his final film THE MOVIE CRITIC for two of his former leading men. Here’s one of them…” said Jeff Sneider with The Ankler.
Underneath the post, the journalist shared a famous image of Travolta, now immortalised as a meme, pottering about a living room belonging to Mia Wallace, a character portrayed by Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction.
Sneider has indicated in the tweet that “two” of Tarantino’s former leading men are linked with The Movie Critic, so naturally, attention turns to Samuel L. Jackson, who portrayed Jules Winnfield alongside Travolta’s Vincent Vega in the 1994 thriller.
Despite no official confirmation, it would seem that Jackson’s name has already been thrown into the ring for Tarantino’s tenth picture, following comments Sneider made on social media that the actor “was already kinda out there” when quizzed whether he’d be working with Tarantino again. Sneider further suggested that he had “heard of another actor connected to the project, as well as “an actress too.”
It might be some time before we receive concrete details connected to The Movie Critic. For now, online speculation will run riot as audiences debate who could appear in The Movie Critic. The leading actresses in Tarantino’s back catalog include the likes of Uma Thurman (Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill) and Pam Grier (Jackie Brown).
Leading actors connected to Tarantino pictures include Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio (Inglourious and jointly in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood), Kurt Russell (the underrated Death Proof), and Harvey Keitel (Reservoir Dogs, Tarantino’s gritty debut from 1992 – and again as The Wolf in Pulp Fiction).
