Rick and Michonne Spin-Off Set For 2024 In New SDCC Trailer

The Walking Dead may be over, but the horror drama’s cinematic universe continues to expand, and AMC has now unveiled the first trailer for the upcoming Rick and Michonne spin-off, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Debuting during the San Diego Comic-Con panel at under forty seconds, we see the first shots of Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) in action.

Featured against an eerie red hue, Lincoln and Gurira will reunite on screen for the first time in more than half a decade. Rick can be seen brandishing what looks like his famous red axe, while Gurira’s Michonne says: “I’ve been out there a long time, I lost someone years ago, and then things changed, I found out he’s alive.”

Last seen in fleeting cameos filmed for The Walking Dead’s series finale last year, the two fan favourite characters were charting different parts of the world searching for one another. Rick was being hunted by the Civil Republic Military as Michonne travelled on horseback through open country.

“This series presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living,” the official synopsis for the spin-off teases, courtesy of a report from Comic Book.

There’s even a brand-new trailer for the Daryl Dixon spin-off, starring Norman Reedus, as he embarks on a journey across a post-apocalyptic Paris.
