As The Walking Dead universe continues to expand, Daryl Dixon’s adventures take him across the world, swapping out the Commonwealth for the beautifully barren, post-apocalyptic landscape of Paris, France, and he’s on a mission to reset the world and save humanity. Revealed during the San Diego Comic-Con panel, the first full-length trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon gives fans a more in-depth look into Daryl’s next escapade, and he’s got his work cut out.
With the archer split from his friends and the place he calls home, he’s coupled with new allies. Chief among which is Isabelle (Clémence Poésy – In Bruges, Tenet), a prominent figure of a sisterhood of nuns who task him with delivering Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuizzi), a young French boy, safely across the country to an unspecified location. Close behind him is a ruthless group led by Genet (Anne Charrier), who instructs her right-hand man Codron (Romain Levi), to track down Daryl and kill him.

Most intriguingly, a line of dialogue in the trailer strikes a chord with those acquainted with The Last Of Us. We’ll need to wait until September to confirm, but Isabelle suggests to Daryl that Laurent is “ready” to “lead the revival” of society. It would appear to imply that the boy could be immune. Daryl gives Isabelle a skeptical glance, and rightfully so, since details on how the pandemic began and whether immune survivors could exist have been almost entirely non-existent.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon debuts on September 10, 2023 on AMC and AMC+. Plus, we’ve got a new trailer for Rick and Michonne’s spin-off, debuting in 2024.
