The official synopsis for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 has been revealed, with only a few months to go until the film receives its theatrical release. Marvel has now released an overview of what fans can expect from the final film, courtesy of an original story from GamesRadar.
“Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past,” the synopsis reads, which can only mean bad news for Bradley Cooper’s sharp-tongued raccoon.
“Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them,” the overview concludes.
In a recent interview with Deadline, director James Gunn revealed how he incorporated elements into The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, to cut out needless exposition in Volume 3. He described the special as “an opportunity to introduce some elements into Guardians of the Galaxy, so I didn’t have to explain them at the beginning of Volume 3.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 will star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, and Sylvester Stallone. Newcomers include Chukwudi Iwuji, who confirmed on the panel that he’d be portraying High Evolutionary, Daniela Melchior, Nico Santos, and Maria Bakalova – who’ll be playing Cosmo the dog).
