Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 closed out the James Gunn trilogy earlier in the year, bringing the story of the Guardians to a definitive close. Whether the Guardians will make another appearance in future phases of the MCU remains to be seen. However long the wait may be, audiences with a subscription to Disney+ can relive the Guardians’ final adventure at their leisure after premiering on the platform in August, and there’s even more content from them to come.
A behind-the-scenes documentary, Marvel Studios’ Assembled: The Making of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, is set to drop on Disney+ on September 13.
According to an official synopsis (H/T ComicBook) the documentary will expand our knowledge on how Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was “conceived, shaped, and delivered to the world.”
Fans can “stand alongside the cast and crew in the emotional final moments of the shoot as they bid farewell to each other, and close this chapter in the saga of Peter Quill and his loveable band of misfit-warriors.”
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was released on May 5, 2023, and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, and Sylvester Stallone.
Newcomers include Chukwudi Iwuji (portraying the High Evolutionary), Daniela Melchior, Nico Santos, and Maria Bakalova – (portraying Cosmo the dog). The third chapter expands on Rocket’s past ties with the High Evolutionary as the Guardians fight to save him in the present.
Marvel Studios’ Assembled: The Making of Secret Invasion will premiere on Disney+ a week later on September 20. The director of Secret Invasion discussed the season finale’s low ratings.
