Deadpool & Wolverine Surpasses $600 Million Box Office Milestone

Deadpool & Wolverine has surpassed $600 million at the box office, making it only one of 16 films in history to reach this milestone. With slow figures during the Labor Day weekend, the Marvel superhero sequel, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in their recurring titular roles, has beaten the odds in quite some style.

According to figures accumulated by Variety, the threequel amassed $15.2 million across the weekend, and close to $20 million ($19.5 to be exact) on the Monday. Across five of the past six weekends, Deadpool & Wolverine has held the top spot, and ranks, at the time of writing, as the second highest-grossing film of 2024. Globally speaking, the film has pulled in a staggering $1.25 billion.

Coming behind in second, Alien: Romulus, the latest instalment in the long-running sci-fi series, drew in $9.3 million across the weekend, with $11.5 million from more than 3,100 cinemas in its third week. The film, directed by Fede Alvarez, has grossed $91 million domestically, and $283.5 million globally.
