The Walking Dead Wraps Filming As Stars Pay Tribute

The Walking Dead has wrapped filming, and the stars and crew are making their goodbyes to the long-running AMC horror drama. Norman Reedus shared a clip and picture on his Instagram featuring Melissa McBride’s Carol. Judging by their hairstyles and how young they look, the video of Reedus and McBride appears to have been filmed back in Season 2. Reedus shared a selfie with fellow star Michael Rooker, best known as Merle Dixon, Daryl’s brother, between Seasons 1 to 3.

“That’s a wrap. 11 seasons 12 years. Never been so beat up and it was an absolute blast,” Reedus captioned the post. In another post with Reedus, make-up designer and director Greg Nicotero shared a video reminiscing over the past twelve years. At one point, Reedus describes the experience on the show as a “real joy”, while Nicotero remarked about the time they used to have short hair.

Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, shared a snap on her Instagram holding a mug dedicated to the cast and crew of The Walking Dead. “I don’t have the words right now, but I want to raise my cup to the crew of The Walking Dead. Thank you. 11 seasons. My heart is full.” she captioned the post.

Christian Serratos, who plays Rosita, shared a photo on her Instagram story and captioned the image: “Already miss the woods. I love my Walking Dead family.” In an interview with Insider on Wednesday, Paola Lázaro, who plays Juanita “Princess” Sanchez on the show, described wrapping as a “bittersweet” experience.

“I think we’re all tired physically, but we are just sad to say goodbye to each other — to the crew, the cast, everybody behind the scenes,” Lázaro adds. “To not wear my coat anymore, my pink jacket, it makes me kind of sad. I fell so in love with this character.”
