The Marvels Will Be The Shortest MCU Film Ever Made

The Marvels will be the shortest film in the MCU. Running in at 1 hour and 45 minutes (a little longer in runtime than Venom: Let There Be Carnage), The Marvels will still wrap up sooner than the previous shortest MCU films, The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World. The two films clocked in equally at 112 minutes, an extra seven minutes of screen-time compared to The Marvels. Rated PG-13, the runtime for the sequel was confirmed in a listing via the AMC Theatres website.

The modern Marvel blockbuster will typically clock around or over the two-hour mark. Most recently, Thor: Love and Thunder swept up 119 minutes in cinemas, while Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness narrowly edged the two-hour mark at 126 minutes.

Avengers: Endgame remains top of the runtime list with a bumper 181 minute finale to the Infinity Saga, a feat unbroken for more than four years.

The Marvels, the final film from Phase 5 in 2023, continues multiple plot threads from other MCU films and television shows. As a direct sequel to Captain Marvel and spiritual successor to Ms. Marvel on Disney Plus, the film tracks plot lines following the post-blip events established in Wandavision and Nick Fury’s story in Secret Invasion.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel cross over with Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) after their powers entangle. Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton) stars as the story antagonist, a Kree Warrior with scores to settle against Danvers following a civil war.

The Marvels is set for land in cinemas on November 10, 2023.

Charlie Cox is set to reprise his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil before his own spin-off series
