The Marvels Could Be The Shortest MCU Film Yet

If a runtime leak is to be believed, The Marvels will be the shortest film in the MCU. Running in at 1 hour and 38 minutes (roughly the runtime for Venom: Let There Be Carnage), The Marvels would be twenty minutes shorter than the current shortest MCU film, The Incredible Hulk, starring Edward Norton.

The second entry in Phase One sits at 1 hour and 52 minutes, which is still pretty lengthy, if you consider how long it takes for your legs to fall asleep in the cinema. If you remove the credits, The Marvels comes in at 1 hour and 30 minutes. However, the leaker has explained that the runtime “isn’t final.”

The information was shared online by Cryptic4KQual via X (or Twitter) who has a proven track record for predicting runtimes with shows such as The Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka (per CBR). The prediction was verified by another insider, CanWeGetSomeToast, who said the film would be “all killer, no filler.”

The Marvels, the final film from Phase 5 in 2023, continues multiple plot threads from other MCU films and television shows. As a direct sequel to Captain Marvel and spiritual successor to Ms. Marvel on Disney Plus, the film tracks plot lines following the post-blip events established in Wandavision, and Nick Fury’s story in Secret Invasion.

Directed by Nia DaCosta, Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel cross over with Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) after their powers entangle. Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton) stars as the story antagonist, a Kree Warrior with scores to settle against Danvers following a civil war.

The Marvels is set for cinematic release on November 10, 2023.
