The First Alien: Earth Teaser Promises Fresh Xenomorph Terror

The first trailer for Alien: Earth, a prequel series by Noah Hawley, has been released online – and teases a Xenomorph in all its terrifying glory. Coming in at under fifteen seconds in duration, an image of Earth merges with the head of a snarling Xenomorph, baring bloody teeth.

“When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat,” a synopsis for Alien: Earth reads. Executive-produced by Ridley Scott, the series also stars Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, and Kit Young.

Known for his work on Fargo, Hawley recently shared his opinions on whether the storylines of Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017) would be integrated into Alien: Earth (via Variety). Famously, the prequels steered the narrative in an unusual direction, revealing that the Xenomorph race were developed as a bioweapon by a race known as the Engineers. In talks with Ridley Scott, Hawley clarified the concept as “inherently less useful to me.”

He added that “in terms of the mythology, what’s scary about this monster, is that when you look at those first two movies, you have this retro-futuristic technology. You have giant computer monitors, these weird keyboards … You have to make a choice. Am I doing that?”

Alien: Earth lands on Hulu during the opening half of 2025. For more Alien content, the newly released Alien: Romulus shares a surprising link to The Last Of Us Part II
