The Boys’ Spin-Off Gen V Gets Gruesome First Look Trailer

Prime Video’s Gen V, a spin-off to The Boys, has a gruesome first trailer – and life at a superhero college looks bloody horrible. We use the term bloody quite literally, as the footage delivers a liberal dose of violent carnage, puppets, and on a lighter note, smiley-face pancakes.

Revealed at CCXP in Brazil, thanks to a story from Variety, the series follows a group of students competing as would-be super-powered crime fighters at Godolkin University, a prestigious facility dedicated to young adult superheroes. Judging by the footage, the spin-off won’t hold back, so expect superhero-related satire, puppet-on-puppet violence, profanities, and the works.

The series is expected to run concurrently alongside The Boys Season 4 next year and will feature a wealth of familiar faces from the parent series. These include speedster A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), Vought’s CEO Ashley Barrett, and Dawn of the Seven director Adam Bourke (P.J. Byrne). Clancy Brown (Dexter: New Blood) and Alexander Calvert (Supernatural) fill out the cast.

Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, and Jason Ritter. Plus, a load of puppets.

The spin-off is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios, alongside Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg are among the executive producers on the series.

Gen V is expected to premiere on Prime Video in 2023.
