The Boys Season 3 has a trailer – and it is bloodier, weirder, and better than ever before. Beginning with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), the most intriguing reveal from the trailer is his supe eyes. Whether they echo Homelander’s powers for real or are the result of an experimental drug is unknown.
Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), otherwise known as the “head exploding assassin” is still active. One particular demonstration of powers sticks in the mind from Season 2. So we can likely attribute a deal of the blood and bits to her disturbing superpower. On the subject of brutality, Laz Alonso who plays Mother’s Milk, confirmed that Season 3 would be the bloodiest yet.
The trailer shines particular focus onto Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), the elected leader of Payback, an Avengers-parody group. Touching down in the premiere episode, Ackles savagely fights his way through German soldiers, sings on stage, and smiles for cameras.
Hughie (Jack Quaid) is having a rough time in the trailer. He suffers a broken arm before Billy projectile vomits into his face. Just for good measure. On the plus side, his relationship with Starlight is going strong, so it’s not all bad.
Then we move on to the weird. The trailer teases fragments of the most risqué storyline from the source material, Herogasm. Homelander (Antony Starr) flits between brooding silence and deranged fury and milking a cow. No joke.
Elsewhere, the trailer teases a glimpse of Little Nina (Katia Winter), a Russian mob boss with a fondness for sex toys, Black Noir drawing, Ryan losing his superpowered temper, and Frenchie and Kimiko performing a musical number.
Starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, and Karan Fukuhara, The Boys Season 3 debuts on Amazon Prime on June 3. To catch up before the summer, The Boys Seasons 1-2 are currently streaming on the service.
