For those who’ve not caught up with The Boys, this article does contain spoilers. It has been announced that The Boys Season 3 will officially premiere on June 3, 2022, as well as the release of the first exclusive teaser to the new season. It’s not much, but it shows us an unnerving few moments as we see Homelander, (Antony Starr), and Starlight, (Erin Moriarity), posing for photos in Vought Tower.
Watching the photography session is Ashley, Vought’s former Director of Talent Relations and current Senior Vice President of Hero Management, who appears increasingly nervous as Homelander and Starlight pose for shots. The camera pans in on Starr, who despite his disarming smile, is likely far from a happy, stable Supe.
The camera shutter snaps louder and louder the longer we linger on Homelander until the trailer cuts to black to reveal the release date. In the conclusion to Season 2, Homelander was left reeling from the losses of both his son, Ryan, a potential mini-Homelander in the making, and Stormfront, a trendy, secret Nazi Supe and widow to Frederick Vought, the founder of Vought.
The head-exploding assassin was further revealed in the season finale, with Hughie joining Congresswoman Victoria Neuman, and Billy Butcher and his team being cleared of all charges relating to the Supes. Looking ahead to Season 3, the show will feature one of the most controversial storylines from the source material, Herogasm.
The first episode of the new season will introduce the Avengers-parody group, Payback, led by Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, who was pictured on set outside his trailer. Other members of Payback include Lady Liberty, (and later Stormfront), Eagle the Archer, both of whom made appearances throughout Season 2.
The others yet to make an appearance include Tek Knight, Swatto, Crimson Countess, and Mind-Droid. The Boys further stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, and Karan Fukuhara, with Seasons 1-2 currently streaming on Amazon Prime.
