With tickets going on sale for Thor: Love and Thunder from Monday (June 13), a new thirty-second teaser for Thor’s fourth film has debuted online. The teaser shares new footage between Thor and the Guardians during an epic battle. The Asgard God and the Guardians argue about what Thor has described as a relaxing holiday. Judging by the footage – it’s anything but this.
“I said it was going to be like a relaxing holiday,” Thor replies. Star-Lord/Peter Quill rolls his eyes as Nebula (Karen Gillan) and Drax open fire on an unseen enemy. In another shot, Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) takes on Gorr with a thunderbolt. Best of all – the teaser is backed by the whaling theme of “Sweet Child O’ Mine” from Guns N’ Roses. Later in the clip, Thor unifies his allies with an empowering speech, telling the others that “in times like this, we need to come together.”
Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth instalment in the series and second from director Taika Waititi, debuts in cinemas on July 8, 2022. Chris Pratt, Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi, Jaimie Alexander, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Karen Gillan will be reprising their roles from previous MCU films. The film will feature Christian Bale as villain Gorr the God Butcher, Russell Crowe as Zeus, and Akosia Sabet as Wakandan Goddess Bast.
Since the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor has teamed up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and is ready to reclaim his rightful Asgardian title. Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor might have something to say about that. Furthermore, to add to his problems, Christian Bale’s Gorr the God Butcher – is on a campaign to wipe out the gods.
