It’s good news for Daredevil fans – the series is coming back to Disney+, following the announcement during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Courtesy of a report from Marvel, the series, officially titled Daredevil: Born Again, will see Charlie Cox reprise his role as the titular anti-hero alongside Vincent D’Onofrio, best known for his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin during the series’ original run. Kevin Feige confirmed an 18-episode series would arrive on Disney+ sometime in Spring 2024.
There’s been no word yet on casting details and plot information – so there’s no news on whether Matt Murdock’s pals Karen and Foggy will reprise their respective roles. Plus, with With D’Onofrio recently connected to Hawkeye’s story – after making his villainous arrival into the MCU last Christmas, there’s no telling whether any other major MCU players will make an appearance.
The news of a Daredevil revival comes as no surprise to many following Charlie Cox’s fleeting but welcomed cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In February, Charlie Cox suggested that he would reprise his role as Matt Murdock sometime in the future. The 39-year-old actor further shared details of an awkward experience after sneaking into a cinema to watch a crowd reaction to his cameo.
Daredevil was one of Marvel’s multiple Netflix shows to move from the platform onto Disney+ earlier in the year. The series, alongside Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and the limited series The Defenders, are all available to stream on Disney+.
Cox plays a lawyer blinded as a young boy, whose heightened senses enable him to protect Hell’s Kitchen as a vigilante by night. His most notable conflict throughout the series is a feud with crime lord Fisk.
