If you read the words Andrew and Garfield, more often than not, the words Spider and Man will almost surely follow. In this case, that’s true – and we’re jumping back on the bandwagon and revising what we know to the question of – will Andrew Garfield return for Spider-Man 4?
In a new interview with IndieWire, the 41-year-old actor, while attending the premiere of his latest film, We Live In Time, at the Toronto International Film Festival, Garfield was pitched the question of whether he’d be involved with Spider-Man 4.
“I mean, like the internet is a big place,” Garfield replied. “I think there’s a lot of people who will just say anything to get clicks. So you might have been duped, I’m afraid.”
That’s all we have on the subject at this time. With nothing slated on the MCU roster involving the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, fans will be waiting for quite some time until word breaks about a new film. We might report back when Marvel announces Phase 7.
Following a two-film stint in The Amazing Spider-Man series, Garfield returned to reprise his role as Peter Parker alongside Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland for Spider-Man: No Way Home, the highest-grossing film of 2021, marking his first appearance in the MCU, donning the suit for the first time in seven years.
We Live in Time is slated to debut in cinemas on October 11, 2024. For more Marvel content, a producer with the studio recently outlined the challenges of bringing together the Avengers for a television series.
Also in attendance at the Toronto International Film Festival was Steven Moffat, who discussed, among other things, the failed NBC reboot of Coupling.
