A spin-off attached to the Jack Reacher universe has been ordered to series on Amazon (via Variety). Sources close to the publication have revealed Nick Santora will be penning the spin-off in partnership with Nicholas Wootton, who share collective credits on Scorpion, Law & Order, and Prison Break.
Santora already has roots within the world of Jack Reacher, serving as a showrunner and executive producer on the series, starring Alan Ritchson (Fast X) in the titular role. Amazon has declined to comment on the spin-off.
In a synopsis for the flagship series, Reacher is “a veteran military police investigator who has just recently entered civilian life. Reacher is a drifter, carrying no phone and the barest of essentials as he travels the country and explores the nation he once served.”
“When Reacher arrives in the small town of Margrave, Georgia, he finds a community grappling with its first homicide in 20 years. The cops immediately arrest him and eyewitnesses claim to place Reacher at the scene of the crime. While he works to prove his innocence, a deep-seated conspiracy begins to emerge, one that will require Reacher’s keen mind and hard-hitting fists to deal with. One thing above all is for sure: They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.
The first season of Jack Reacher is inspired by the first Lee Child novel, Killing Floor. The second season adapts the events of Bad Luck and Trouble, the eleventh novel in the Reacher series. The third season will focus on book seven, Persuader.
Jack Reacher further stars Maria Sten, Sonya Cassidy, Anthony Michael Hall, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Roberto Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart, and Olivier Ritchers.
A release date for the third season of Jack Reacher is predicted to be 2025.
