Amazon Prime has renewed The Boys for a fourth season – courtesy of a report by Deadline. Get ready for another season of blood, gore, supes, and Billy Butcher’s iconic C-word. The renewal comes as the popular Amazon Prime series, starring Karl Urban and Jack Quaid, reaches the mid-way stage of its third season. To mark the news, Quaid shared a photo on his Instagram of the cast holding up four fingers to celebrate the new season announcement.

“Sorry but you’re stuck with these stupid faces for at least another year” Quaid said. “Couldn’t be prouder of this amazing cast and crew. Thank you to everyone watching our show who made this possible! Let’s get back to work!” In a statement, showrunner Eric Kripke said the cast and crew were “so grateful to Sony, Amazon, and most of all the fans for embracing the show and allowing us to make more,”

Kripke continued that they were “thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven, as well as comment on the insane world we’re living in. Also, this is the first time in history that exploding genitalia has led to further success.”

Vernon Sanders, the head of global television at Amazon Studios, said in a statement that “the show was continuing to get even bolder—an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season.”

He added that the series had “incredible global reach and the viewership for opening weekend is proof of that.” After The Boys Season 3 debuted on June 3, the show’s worldwide viewership has increased by +17% from season two and +234% from season one, Prime Video confirmed.

The Boys further stars Laz Alonso, Tomer Kapon, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jensen Ackles, Karen Fukuhara, Dominique McElligott, Simon Pegg, Chace Crawford, Jesse Usher, Colby Minifie, and Giancarlo Esposito.
