The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons Would “Never Say Never” To Sheldon Return

Jim Parsons has revealed his stance on whether he’d be open to returning to The Big Bang Theory universe, reprising his acclaimed role as theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper.

Parsons, 51, has revealed he would “never say never” to coming back, during an appearance on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? (via Deadline). “As we sit here now, no, but I also would never say never to anything, because life changes so much.”

“You know, one of the things is that it was so special as what it was, as what it is. And they call it lightning in a bottle for a reason, and you can be certain it wouldn’t be that. And so why would we be doing it? I don’t know, that’s how I feel on that right now,” the actor added, who scooped up four Emmys for his breakout role in the CBS sitcom, also starring Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco.

Two more spin-offs are in active development, with the commission of a fourth spin-off in the works, Georgie And Mandy’s First Marriage, an offshoot from the prequel series, Young Sheldon, and the recently green-lit, untitled series featuring original supporting characters Kevin Sussman (Stuart), Brian Posehn (Bert), and Lauren Lapkus (Denise).

Sussman was promoted to a series regular as hapless, yet loveable comic book store owner Stuart in Season 6 of BBT, at the same time Posehn, who portrayed socially awkward geologist Bert Kibbler, joined the show. Lapkus joined the sitcom in Season 11 as a romantic interest to Stuart.

“But like I say, God willing, life is very long.”

The Big Bang Theory further stars Simon Helberg, Mayim Bialik, Kunal Nayyar, Melissa Rauch, Laurie Metcalf, Will Wheaton, Courtney Henggeler, Laura Spencer, John Ross Bowie, Sara Gilbert, and Brian Thomas Smith.
