Rick and Morty Season 7 Sets October Release Date

Rick and Morty Season 7 will be coming back in October. The acclaimed Adult Swim animated series will be returning to our screens from October 15 at 11:00PM Eastern on the network, and to hype up the new season, the official Rick and Morty Twitter channel has shared a promo poster parodying a beloved 90’s action flick. “We ride together. We die together. We’re buried in the backyard together,” the post is captioned. You can see the post below.

The quote and poster are inspired by Michael Bay’s directorial debut, the first Bad Boys film, while the “buried in the backyard” line alludes to a Season 1 episode of Rick and Morty. Rick, Morty, Summer, and Rick’s ship are featured in the poster stylised after the iconic 1995 action film.

“It’s happening,” Michael Ouweleen, president of Adult Swim, announced in a statement (courtesy of a story from Deadline). “Thanks to the talent of the entire show team, we can all enjoy 10 new episodes that yet again raise the bar for comedy and animation. This season proves that the geniuses at work on Rick and Morty are just getting started.”

“Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: What’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. ‘Rick and Morty,’ 100 years! Or at least until season 10!” a press release reads for Season 7.

However, Adult Swim has yet to confirm the new voice behind the titular characters of the series since Justin Roiland stepped down from the series following domestic abuse charges. The case against Roiland was later dropped. With an October release window scheduled, we should soon know.

Seasons 1-6 are available on Netflix in the UK.
