A new, predictably violent and bizarre trailer for Gen V has been revealed, and it promises to be everything we’ve come to expect from The Boys universe. We open with images of The Seven, the infamous superhero group at the top of Vought Tower, including A-Train on a start line, Queen Maeve stopping an armoured truck by simply…, standing in front of it, and Homelander giving a cheeky, if slightly murderous grin and salute.
However, this is not the story about the Seven, this is a story about the next generation of super gifted heroes America has to offer. We hear the voice of Clancy Brown, who explains that to be a hero requires “sacrifice” instead of seeking glory. Godolkin University, a campus for the super-powered, is deemed as a “safe space” for all attendees to thrive. However, something tells us it won’t all be smooth sailing. Watch the trailer below:
There’s an unhealthy mix of partying, super-powered ultra-violence (the man with the bloody fist in his mouth is not pretty to watch), and Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), with the freakish ability to control blood and make a man’s nether regions…, explode. Hard to say we were surprised.
Gen V stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marco Pigossi, and Jason Ritter. Plus, a load of puppets. The spin-off is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios, alongside Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film. Eric Kripke, Seth Rogen, and Evan Goldberg are among the executive producers on the series.
Gen V is expected to premiere on Prime Video on September 29, 2023, so mark the date in your calendars. For more The Boys content, take a read of FlickLuster’s review for the Season 3 finale.
