Spoilers from the latest episode of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will be discussed herein.
Melissa McBride will reprise her role in The Walking Dead universe with the second chapter of the Daryl Dixon spin-off. Her involvement in the series will be significant since the series has been titled The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.
“I’ve known there was much more to be told of Carol’s story as I felt her so unsettled when we last saw her, as she watched her best friend, Daryl, ride away,” McBride shared in a statement on Thursday, October 12, after AMC revealed her involvement at New York Comic Con 2023 (H/T GamesRadar).
“Apart or (hopefully!) together, their stories run deep, and I’m so excited to continue Carol’s journey here. This team of storytellers have done amazing work to land these two established characters in an entirely new world to them, and I’m loving the discoveries!”
Following a voice cameo in Episode 5, McBride appeared in the flesh for the season finale of the Daryl Dixon series, hunting a survivor riding his bike through Freeport, Maine. “I don’t want any trouble, I’m looking for a friend of mine,” Carol tells the survivor after running them off the road in a Mustang. “Name’s Daryl Dixon.”
Next, we have an announcement about the Rick and Michonne spin-off, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. In a new teaser revealed at NYCC, fans were given a fresh look at Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) in action since departing the parent series. Watch the trailer below.
Last seen in cameos filmed for The Walking Dead series finale last year, the two fan favourite characters were charting different parts of the world searching for one another. Rick was being hunted by hostile survivors as Michonne travelled on horseback through open country.
The Ones Who Live is set to premiere in February 2024.
