Stranger Things: Joseph Quinn On Eddie Munson’s Future

Joseph Quinn, best known for his role as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things Season 4, has delivered an update on his future in the sci-fi series, and it’s not looking promising. “Yeah, I’ve said I don’t know because I really don’t know,” Quinn said in an interview with GQ, dampening any hopes the Hellfire Club metalhead makes a miraculous comeback for the show’s final season.

Referencing a statement from Shawn Levy, a producer and director on the series, Quinn said Eddie’s return to the show “would be very, very, very unlikely. He seems pretty fucking dead to me.”

“It’s just a beautifully written arc,” Quinn said about his character’s story. “The beginning, middle and end are so powerful as it stands, so I think to just crowbar him into a narrative… you don’t want him to overstay his welcome,” the 28-year-old actor said, adding that the character “did the job that the Duffers wanted him to do.”

“By no means am I ruling it out,” Quinn added. “That’s a decision for the grown-ups to make. But Stranger Things was doing fine without Eddie. I think they’ll be fine next season without him, too.”

Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Gaten Matarazzo, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Maya Hawke, and Charlie Heaton.

All four seasons of Stranger Things are available to stream on Netflix. Are you looking forward to the final season of Stranger Things, give us your thoughts on what you think Season 5 will deliver!
