Pulp Fiction At 30: Samuel L. Jackson Recites Speech From Memory

Pulp Fiction marks its 30th anniversary, and to honour the occasion, Samuel L. Jackson has recreated his most iconic scene from the crime thriller, reciting the entire Bible passage from Ezekiel 25:17. In just 22 seconds, the 75-year-old actor performed the speech, and quite effortlessly:

“The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children.”

“And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.”

“YOU KNOW I STILL GOT IT!!! EZEKIEL 25:17,” the post is captioned on Twitter, as he gives a small smile after finishing the passage. Pulp Fiction received its cinematic release in October 1994, and received acclaim from critics and audiences, and is regarded as one of Tarantino’s best works.

Jackson, known for his collaborations with director Quentin Tarantino, has further featured in Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill: Vol. 2 (2004), Django Unchained (2012), and The Hateful Eight (2015). He further provided his voice for Inglourious Basterds (2009).

Pulp Fiction was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, receiving the award for Best Original Screenplay. The crime film starred John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Harvey Keitel, Ving Rhames, Bruce Willis, and a cameo from Quentin Tarantino.
