Moon Knight Trends Again- But For One Distinct Reason

Moon Knight launched on Disney+ in March 2022, and since the conclusion of the Oscar Isaac-led series, Marvel has been unsure whether a second season will ever materialise. Sadly, we have nothing new to report, but Moon Knight has recently been thrown back into the social media spotlight and for one distinct reason.

In a recent interview, Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios teased fans with an update on the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series, promisingsome of the most brutal action” ever seen in the series.

In context with the series, violence, and bloodshed should be expected, some Marvel fans quickly pointed out that comparable comments had been made regarding Moon Knight (via ComicBook). “I wouldn’t believe a word of it until I see it for myself when the series comes out. We were made the same promises with Moon Knight (rip) and we got screwed. On the other hand, I know that it sells less but what we want above all is good writing, otherwise it sucks,” said one X user, @Batmanderiv. “So did Moon Knight,” writes @primegundam.

In the lead-up to the release of Moon Knight, Marvel President Kevin Feige defined the titular character asbrutaland stated it hadbeen fun to work with Disney+ and see the boundaries shifting on what we’re able to do.”

“There are moments [in the series] when Moon Knight is wailing on another character, and it is loud and brutal, and the knee-jerk reaction is,We’re gonna pull back on this, right? No. We’re not pulling back. There’s a tonal shift. This is a different thing. This is Moon Knight.”

Nevertheless, if Daredevil: Born Again follows the violent trend set during its Netflix heyday, the revival should have no issues producing the same gritty, hard-as-nails tone and brutality fans have come to expect.
