Michael Gandolfini Lands Major Role In Daredevil: Born Again

Michael Gandolfini has been cast in a major role for Marvel’s upcoming Daredevil: Born Again reboot, thanks to a report from Deadline. Sources close to the publication suggest that Gandolfini, son to the late James Gandolfini of The Sopranos fame, will be playing an “ambitious guy from Staten Island” known at this stage as Liam.

The finer details of Gandolfini’s character are being kept under wraps, so the name Liam could be a temporary placeholder. However, the 23-year-old actor will be appearing alongside Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio for the reboot, which returns to our television screens for the first time since Daredevil’s cancellation four years ago. Cox and D’Onofrio will reprise their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.

Gandolfini famously portrayed a younger version of his father’s character in The Many Saints of Newark, a prequel to Tony Sopranos’ story, following his father’s death in 2013. Gandolfini has landed stints in other projects that include Cherry alongside Tom Holland, the Paramount+ limited series The Offer, and Ari Aster’s Disappointment Blvd.

Daredevil: Born Again is an 18-episode series expected to arrive on Disney+ sometime in Spring 2024, with Charlie Cox and Vincent Deborah Ann Woll recently addressed her character’s future in the series, revealing that she’d “be thrilled to get to be a part of it.”

All three seasons of Daredevil, including a wealth of other Marvel TV series, including all eight episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, are available to stream on Disney+.
