In 2021, Daniel Craig bowed out from the role as the eponymous James Bond, fifteen years after first taking up the mantle of 007. The twenty-fifth film in the Bond series further marked the first time an incarnation of the spy was killed off, ending Craig’s time in the series – as the character sacrificed himself to save the lives of his family and millions of innocents.
In a new interview with The Guardian (via GamesRadar), Amazon MGM Studios boss Jennifer Salke delivered an update on the search for the next 00. “There are a lot of ideas [about potential actors] that have popped up that I thought are interesting,” Salke explained.
“I think there are a lot of different ways we can go. We have a good and close relationship with Eon [Productions] and Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson]. We are not looking to disrupt the way those wonderful films are made. For us, we are taking their lead. The global audience will be patient. We don’t want too much time between films, but we are not concerned at this point.”
Since audiences had to endure a four-year wait between Quantum of Solace (2008) and Skyfall (2012), and another six-year gap between the release of Spectre (2015) and the final film in Craig’s era, we could be waiting for quite some time to come until a new Bond graces the silver screen, and we hear that famous line about Vodka Martinis.
No Time To Die further stars Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch, Léa Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ana De Armas, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Billy Magnussen, Jeffrey Wright, David Dencik, and Rory Kinnear.
