HBO Reveals House Of The Dragon Teaser Trailer

HBO has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming Game Of Thrones prequel, House Of The Dragon.

Compared to the previous reveal in the HBO lineup trailer, which only showed the title and that the show will air in 2022, the teaser finally gave fans a first glimpse of the Targaryen lineage before Game Of Thrones. As you may expect, the trailer had a lot of fire but was also accompanied by a voice-over from Matt Smith who will be playing Prince Daemon Targaryen, and a lot of blonde hair.

The trailer also revealed a bit more about where in history the show is set, with the text reading ‘200 years before the fall of the throne, a dynasty reigned.’ Aside from that, the trailer revealed some stellar costumes and set pieces, with the armour sets particularly standing out. The trailer also revealed a larger version of the Iron Throne to resemble the one that was originally in George R.R. Martin’s books, which was certainly a nice touch to appeal to book fans. Although there wasn’t much to take away plot-wise, the teaser certainly gave viewers a flavour of what to expect in terms of setting. However, we can expect the show to cover the build-up to the Targaryen Civil War also known as the Dance of the Dragons.

House Of The Dragon revealed The Iron Throne in all its glory

House Of The Dragon will star Matt Smith (Doctor Who) as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’arcy (Truth Seekers) as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Paddy Considine (The Bourne Ultimatum and The World’s End) as King Viserys I Targaryen, Olivia Cooke (Bates Motel and Ready Player One) as Alicent Hightower, and Rhys Ifans (Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1and The Amazing Spider-Man) as Otto Hightower amongst its cast.

The show will air in 2022, but there’s no official release date as of yet. House Of the Dragon is expected to release on HBO and HBO Max.
