Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Trailer And Titles Revealed

A new trailer for Doctor Who’s upcoming 60th Anniversary Specials has been revealed – along with the episode titles for the three feature-length episodes. You can watch the new trailer at the link below. The episode titles are as follows:

Episode 1 – “The Star Beast”
Episode 2 – “Wild Blue Yonder”
Episode 3 – “The Giggle”

“Why did this face come back?” Donna asks in a voiceover as the trailer opens with the Doctor walking through a marketplace in Camden. Joined by Rose (Yasmin Finney), they witness a doomed spacecraft falling from the sky, one the Doctor recognises is in danger.

Elsewhere, the Wrarth Warriors rampage through the suburbs of London, Neil Patrick Harris has a dance with Tennant’s recently regenerated Fourteenth Doctor, and Donna pokes the eye of Beep the Meep, a cute fuzzball who may be deadlier than appearances suggest.

“He’s here, driving you mad,” Tennant’s Time Lord remarks. Another threat “laughing at the human race” finds the Doctor in a flashy science base as a series of grinning faces leer at them from wall monitors. Whether this is connected in some way to the villain Neil Patrick Harris will play is unclear. Only a matter of months until we find out.

The Doctor and Donna are later stranded inside a spacecraft, and everything becomes a tad glitchy and weird, for a lack of better words. It’s all wibbly-wobbly, to coin the famous phrase. As for the inspiration behind the concept, the story has almost certainly been lifted from a Doctor Who comic strip penned back in 1980, thanks to a theory published by The Radio Times.

Doctor Who is available to stream via the BBC iPlayer, with classic episodes available on Britbox. What are you most excited to see from the future of the series? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
