Daredevil: Born Again: Kingpin Actor Teases Iconic Comic Book Plot

Vincent D’Onofrio has fuelled the fire of speculation ahead of the release of Daredevil: Born Again, the revival and canonical sequel to the acclaimed Netflix series. Scheduled for March 2025, the spin-off is still wrapped in secrecy.

For those who tuned in to watch Echo on Disney+, Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, was considering a run for mayor of New York City, suggesting the new Daredevil series could head in this direction. He had previously appeared in Hawkeye.

During a panel at Dragon Con (thanks to a story from Popverse), D’Onofrio was asked if he’d be interested in playing the villain in an adaptation of Devil’s Reign, a popular comic book storyline that shares interesting parallels to the current timeline within the MCU.

“That’s a very interesting question,” D’Onofrio replied carefully. “I cannot answer that because we have a new season coming out of Daredevil.”

In response, those in attendance can be heard audibly gasping with surprise. D’Onofrio then added more to his non-answer, as strong a hint as fans will get until the series drops. “I’m sure you get it. Otherwise, I would just flap my lips for the next thirty minutes and it would be so much fun, but that’s not happening.”

Daredevil: Born Again stars Charlie Cox, who returns to New York as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen following the conclusion of a three-season run on Netflix. Joining D’Onofrio are returning series regulars Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, and Jon Bernthal.

The cast includes Wilson Bethel, Ayelet Zurer, Mohan Kapur, Nikki James, Margarita Levieva, Michael Gandolfini, Arty Froushan, and Lou Taylor Pucci.
