AMC Shared a Clip For The Walking Dead’s Extended Tenth Season

A new trailer for the remaining six episodes of The Walking Dead’s extended tenth season has been released, with AMC promising “an epic return.” The clip gives us enough, but without spoiling the story, grants us glimpses at Negan’s wife Lucille (who’ll be played by his real-life spouse, Hilarie Burton), The Commonwealth, Maggie, who returned in the tenth season’s original finale, “A Certain Doom”, her son (now some years older), Hershel, the unnamed masked ally traveling with her, and Jerry giving Carol a big hug.

There’s also a first live-action glimpse of Robert Patrick’s rugged-looking survivor, Mays, who was previously seen in an online script-read between Ross Marquand, Seth Gilliam, and Josh McDermitt. Patrick is best known for his work in Terminator 2: Judgement Day and more recently, CBS’s Scorpion.

This latest clip pays particular focus to the challenges faced in filming during socially distanced, COVID-19 conditions.

In September it was announced The Walking Dead would end in 2022, with the show concluding with an extended 24-episode Season 11. Beyond the parent show’s conclusion, there are multiple spin-offs in the works. There’s a show starring Norman Reedus (Daryl), and Melissa McBride (Carol), as well as The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Fear The Walking Dead, an anthology series, and eventually, a trilogy of films with Rick Grimes.

“It’s been 10 years ‘gone bye’; what lies ahead are two more to come and stories and stories to tell beyond that,” the show’s chief content officer Scott M. Gimple stated in a recent statement. “What’s clear is that this show has been about the living, made by a passionate cast, team of writer-producers, producers and crew, bringing to life the vision put forth by Robert Kirkman in his brilliant comic — and supported by the best fans in the world.”

The Walking Dead is due to return on February 28, 2021.
