The Odyssey is one of the most iconic texts in Western literature and world history, with its structure being foundational in how writing in the Western world would evolve since its release in the eighth century BC. Christopher Nolan likes a challenge, so he will be adapting the original epic adventure for the big screen, and the cast is star-studded.
It feels there are still new confirmations of cast members every week, but for now we’ve already had confirmation that the cast will include:
- Jon Bernthal
- Matt Damon
- Jesse Garcia
- Mia Goth
- Anne Hathaway
- Tom Holland (reportedly the lead)
- Bill Irwin
- Samantha Morton
- Lupita Nyong’o
- Elliot Page
- Hilmesh Patiel
- Robert Pattinson
- Benny Safdie
- Charlize Theron
- Will Yun Lee
- Zendaya
That’s quite the impressive cast! Nolan seems to be using his influence following the critical and commercial success of Oppenheimer to brew up a film unlike any other. New announcements are still rolling out around the cast, but for now those 16 talented actors are what we have confirmed.

The Odyssey with its gigantic ensemble cast is set to film sometime this month, and is also expected to have a budget of $250 million, the most expensive of Nolan’s career. The release is currently set for 2026, which gives us another year to wait before we get to see exactly how Nolan translates one of the most epic historical tales into a modern blockbuster hit.
